Good to be back again in here
I just got back from a trip to Italy which covered Rome, Perugia and Florence.
I was really disappointed in Rome, although We had a fabulous time in there, but I was sad to discover that aside from the Vatican (which I loved), the Colosseum and water fountains, nothing did impress me, Rome did not have the charm that Paris or London has. I have to say that I was expecting a lot more.
After the 3 nights spent in Rome, We headed to the small town of Perugia which I absolutely fell in love with its rustic charm; although it did not stop raining for the 24 hours we spent there.
The food, the beer and the wine we tasted there were out of this world, I must say the best everrrr.
After Perugia, our next stop was Florence, an amazing, charming, magical place and above all that a city that is rich in culture.
Piazza is among the most attractive places there; From piazzale Michaelangelo you can get an attractive view of various places like Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, Duomo and the Bargelo.
There are some interesting museums in the city, but we only had the time to visit the "Accademia gallery" which has housed the original David by Michelangelo since 1873.
And what was breathtaking in Florence was the visit of The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, otherwise known as the Duomo, where we climbed almost 500 stairs to the life changing view of the most beautifully designed city. The top of the dome offers a 360 degree astonishing view of Florence and tranquillity that could calm any delirious mind.
And on the last day, we took the train to visit the leaning Pisa tower which was ok
I will be posting some of the pics I took there. And of course, all your comments are appreciated
